All Aflutter About Twitter

There’s so much talk about social media these days that I’m guessing you’ve
experienced (or at least heard about) Twitter by now.  My question for you is not
“Have you tried it?” but rather “Do you grasp it yet?”

I am in the midst of learning the ‘Big Three’ social media venues right now (LinkedIn,
Twitter and Facebook) so that I can offer assistance to my clients in this area that has
many people all aflutter (and this word by the way is used in both the positive and
negative sense).  It’s not the concept of how to use these venues for community
building and marketing strategies that have some of us bewildered but rather it’s
getting started at the basics – the implementation of the application, understanding
the framework and Twitter’s features – that we all want training on first.

Along with the great training resources I have from my Social Media Marketing
Specialist Training by Craig Cannings, I have come across other resources that have
been helpful in filling in the gaps.  One such resource is an ebook, written by
Charlene Kingston of Crow Info Design, titled Twitter For Beginners.  This ebook was
just what I needed to unravel the mysteries of:

  • defining basic Twitter terms
  • effectively setting up your Twitter account profile
  • defining your Twitter business goals and Twitter community
  • deciphering message components and their importance
  • crafting effective messages using message types
  • planning activities that build your Twitter success

If you’d like your very own copy of this free ebook so that you can get started on setting up your Twitter account, click here

Of course, if you feel that you’re overwhelmed at the thought of taking on this project by yourself, then contact me and I’ll be happy to set up your account for you and train you on how to “tweet” to your “peeps”.
